I believe this is the first time I’ve ever found myself playing Devil’s Advocate for a fart app.

This quote’s been going around Facebook quite a bit recently.  As a musician, I certainly like to think that the music I create is more valuable than the idea of a Whoopie Cushion emulator.  But as a programmer, it bugs me that we take for granted technology that was impossible a couple of decades ago.  Now, granted, my programming gig pays my bills, while my music gig barely pays enough to sustain my music gig.  But on the other hand, I’ve never been asked to autograph a breast for implementing a really solid recursive algorithm.

I will add that the computer-generated fart noise was pretty much perfected (albeit unintentionally) by Atari in 1979 with the 810 disk drive.
