And here we have yet another strip where I need to add a disclaimer saying that this strip is in no way inspired by my current boss.
I’m not exactly sure what sent me in this direction on this strip. I’ve never been Johnson, though I’ve certainly worked with him, and I was once hired to be his replacement. You wouldn’t believe the science I had to clean up.
MRS. SHOEBOX’S ASSESSMENT OF TODAY’S STRIP: CHOCK FULL!!!! *Laughter*
-=ShoEboX=-

Gee, I didn’t know you could science. I for one would not mind seeing more along these lines. Science seems to be hot these days, if the latest SMBC Kickstarter is any indication.
So I had a boss once who had no idea what I was doing, but he decided he knew better what I was supposed to do anyway and started making random decisions “on my behalf” which always turned out to be worse than if he had done nothing. His decisions caused me more work to clean up than I had time for what I was supposed to do. He would then yell at me for not getting anything done as I spent all my time cleaning up his messes. I was never so happy to get laid off from a job in my life!!
FFFFFF I thought the joke was going to be the identity of the sample..
This is very funny
I’ve been Johnson. I had a boss who not only didn’t understand what any of his employees did, he renamed our positions to take ‘engineer’ out (we were software engineers) because he deemed ‘engineer’ to mean we would want–and possibly deserved–more money.
So I was a software engineer…with the job title ‘Senior Computer Systems Specialist.’ All because they wanted to deny me a higher salary.
Yeah, i left there right after said boss did. On HIS resume, he took credit for everything everyone under him did.
Gary, you didn’t by chance work for Phoenix Police, did you? I left before the boss started taking all the credit and shifting all the blame.
Reddit did a recent thread on the horrors of science labs. Scarily funny.

Never let them know there is a problem. They will want to fix it, which only multiplies the problem.
“Chock full of science, sir!” You betcha!
