This is not the first PartiallyClips to play with the “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” idea, nor the first to feature a giant spider monster. But I believe it may be the first to combine the two with a Rule 34 spin by way of “Let That Be Your Last Battlefield.” So, y ‘know, there’s that.
Still not totally happy with the wording of the next-to-last speech bubble, but I’m glad to finally have a strip around this piece so I can stop having to look at it every time I flip through my “potential candidates” pile.

Isn’t it basically a clip art of the creature from John Carpenter’s The Thing 1972 ? Nice gag though
yeah I had to reread the last panel a few times, but still good!
I almost thought the joke was going to be ‘the only thing really wrong with this is the asymmetry’
Oh, beauty is in the OTHER eye of the beholder!
Yeah, I immediately think of LTBYLB, every time this scenario comes up. Very, very political in it’s day (1965?, 1966?)
SULU: But their planet’s dead. Does it matter now which one’s right?
SPOCK: Not to Lokai and Bele. All that matters to them is their hate.
UHURA: Do you suppose that’s all they ever had, sir?
KIRK: No, but that’s all they have left. Warp factor two, Mister Sulu. Set course for Starbase Four.
@Brass Orchid – DAMMIT. I wanna retroactively steal that punchline.

@Shoebox – It’s already in there. There is music behind the lyrics.
