Got two up this week, as promised! Enjoy!
This one’s probably inspired to some degree by this shirt, which I’m happy to say I own.
I was initially worried when I wrote this that the direction is too obvious for the joke to be funny, but my wife alleviated this concern to some degree by completely failing to get it at all (granted I showed it to her very late at night.) So I’m looking forward to seeing your comments on this one.
Speaking of my wife, I will mention again that there will be a Manic Metals table at the 41st annual Holiday Bazaar Arts & Crafts Show, happening at the Rochester Museum and Science Center TODAY and all this weekend, in any of you live in the Rochester, NY area and feel like checking out some interesting handmade jewelry and metal crafts.
See you next week!

Excellent use of “Lou”. Nice touch
I think the person who drew the original art must have been hitting the ‘shrooms.
Weird. I gave the advice “Don’t step on any flaming turtles” to a couple of people whose yearbooks I signed at graduation oh-so-many years ago.
It actually took me longer to get the point behind the T-shirt.
I just can’t imagine the original clip artist could have come up with the idea of spiked turtles independently of SMB.
What’s really funny is, there are turtles like that, even more Koopaesque.. with horns and everything. AT least there, used to be, a few centuries back.. we probably killed them all.
This made me laugh my pants.
My favorite part is that, judging by his arm patch, apparently Luigi there is Canadian

Re: Lenny…
Oooooooh. This is a Mario reference. Completely missed it. I’m, uh, of a certain age. (A “heatedly arguing the relative merits of the Atari VCS vs Intellivision age,” specifically. Having outgrown Matchbox vs Hot Wheels when they used to be different, and before Apple vs Microsoft was a thing.)
Greg – I grew up with an Atari 800 computer, which blew both away. I couldn’t borrow games from my friends, but we somehow amassed a rather large collection of games anyway. The Intellivision’s neat, but I could never get over the crappiness of the controller, and while the VCS had crappier graphics, the games tended to be better than the INTV in my humble opinion.
Exit – Yes. I am in fact cited as an example in the Wikipedia entry on “Studlycaps.” Or at least I was last time I checked.

I recently bought the hoodie version of that shirt, after seeing Abed wear it on Community. It is a good shirt.
