I imagine shoebox taking every new comic to his wife with a grin plastered on his face. Eagerly holding out his newest creation without outstretched arms like a 5 year old with macaroni art.
This is one of your classics, I think. The cheeky Cockney banter fits the actual (if cartoon) sparrow perfectly, and I love the punchline. One question though, why does it drop the “g” on “fooling”, but not “talking” or “seething”?
maarvarq – Um…not sure. That’s just how the dialog worked out in my brain.
XonImmortal – In the future, you might consider NOT contributing images of your embodiment of seething rage and bloodlust to royalty-free clip art collections.

“Isn’t it great? Do you love me now?!”
And yes, yes she should, because it is excellent.
Must be related to the Angry Yelling Bird from Questionable Content.
And it is excellent. Most of the time. *ducks*
Fantastic as usual. The punchline at the end cracked me up! Everyone should have a Disneyesque personification of seething rage and bloodlust…
Brilliant!
Touche, Mrs. Shoebox, touche.
XD Love it!
If you think about it, all small birds are british urchins. Not a single one of them has a job.
I LOL’d!
BWAH! That one got me seriously laughing out loud. Well done!
It had Davy Jone voice for me. And I laughed at the punch line. Well done.
Oh, the Incongruity, it Burns! Like sweet hot chilli, it burns all the way to my pleasure centres!

You know, it’s considered polite to ask before you draw a person’s embodiment of seething rage and bloodlust.
How could you do that to me?
Very funny!
Nitpick: He’s much too small to wield a pickaxe.
But his beak looks reasonably sharp. And I wonder what he’s got hidden under his beret?
Thanks muchly for the kind words, people!

The bird HAD to be British. I can’t see it working nearly as well otherwise.
(idly wonders if this is ‘box’s spirit animal*
i chortled all day about this, btw. thanks for the picka… err pick up!
This was great!
Nitpick: Do Brits say “fuck some shit up?” That seems like an American phrase.
Dale, I thought that too. “Go mental on some geezers?”
@dale: I think they actually say “shite”, but aside from that I buy this as Cockney. Better than Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins, anyhow.
@ Jan: He could grip it by the husk.
