The customers answer was like mine. I just know to drive the car. Knows nothing about the parts or any other things about the car. If something happens with it, it is very difficult for me to explain the matter. Thank God I know them personally because we are family friends. So no worries. There’s a Honda shop in Houston that has a photocopied sheet taped to each service advisor’s station. It has a list of about 30 descriptive names for sounds, and what they actually sound like (ie. metalic squeak : like bedsprings). Pretty helpful, actually, when you’re trying to describe the noise the car is making.

What I know about cars is just for driving. That kind of technical bafflegab from a mechanic leaves me nodding and saying “Great! Fix it, please.” Next time my truck needs work, I know I’m going to remember this strip. Are those volume knobs documented online anywhere? …well, anywhere but here? I could save a bundle.
