*groan, facepalm* This is one of those few PartiallyClips strips that I had trouble getting until it was spelled out (here with “Paqueman”).

Random side note: PartiallyClipses should totally be the plural form of PartiallyClips, rather than PartiallyClips being inherently plural.

I misread it as “through the castle’s paquemann”, so I thought it was some kind of architectural feature. Had to read the comments before I figured it out. Heh, think I like it better as a creepy story than a joke, anyway.

M – That’s actually really cool. Thanks for the info.

I’m a software engineer by trade, so I know remarkably little about old buildings beyond the fact that “flying buttresses” is really fun to say. So this little example of my architectural ignorance is probably the first of many – if this is even the first.

French High Gothic it looks like, probably 13th century. It’s probably a cathedral (a cathedral is the seat of a bishop, but most large Gothic churches in France were cathedrals). Oh well. Actually its no so bad, because a lot of cathedrals were built by men who were count bishops.

Good joke anyways.

Also, a lot of cathedrals did have labyrinths, but they were just the drawn on the floor kind, so you couldn’t really get lost. They symbolized the pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

Paqueman … Paqueman … sounds familiar, but google does not return any results involving castles and counts! Why do you tease us so, with jokes relying on medieval arcana?!
