This is a strip about a sunset, and about meaning. It’s the last PartiallyClips of 2009 and probably the last PartiallyClips I am going to write for a while. Possibly ever.
The strip will continue with a new writer, someone I think has the chops to carry it forward from here. Watch this space for more details.
It’s been an amazing 8 years, but my head and my heart are not with PartiallyClips any more. I have to apply myself to the work I think has the greater meaning, because really, I’m no aspiring nihilist.
Thank you.

Hey man, it’s been a great ride. You had a brilliant concept and you worked it. I’ve saved quite a few partiallyclips. Thanks!
Victor.
Hello! I’m both saddened you won’t be continuing to add this humor to our world, and encouraged that you will come up with something even better in your creative explorations.
Good luck, and thanks for providing such a vast accumulation of sarcasm, humor, and thought provoking works!
I must echo the previous comments. I was a fairly recent convert–I only started reading a couple years ago. Thanks for making me laugh so much, time and time again.
It’s been a good run. Thanks for having done this as long as you have and here’s hoping that the next person can live up to your standards.
Thank you and good luck!
Gott in Himmel! What could have more meaning? What freakish joy PartiallyClips has been every week. Ah well, one must do what one must. Have as much fun your next eight years!
Yes it has been very good. I hope your new projects are even more successful.
Hi Robert,
while it’s a pity you won’t be doing these anymore, it’s better to move away than to make them grudgingly. Thanks for all the fun you shared with us with your concept, and all the best for whatever you do in the future.
It’s incredible the concept gave fruit to EIGHT years of clips. But great creators like you could find humor even on Rohrschach blots.
Thanks
Aleks
Many thanks for all your partiallyclips – you’ve brightened many a day and you’ll be a hard act to follow. All the best for your future endeavours.
Oh heck! I’ll admit the recent strips didn’t quite make me laugh like the older ones did, but this has still been one of my favorite webcomics. And quite frankly, if we’re losing this because of Erfworld, of all things, it’s that much sadder.
And the nice tidy new layout is so promising, too.
Thank you for the fun you brought me each monday morning as i started my workday. It made the mondays always a bit easier.
Its been a blast and i wish you all the best with whatever you are going to do.
Thanks
D.
Your PartiallyClips have entertained me massively over the last several years, and they will greatly be missed. I have many, many favourite punchlines at which I will continue to chuckle, from your Despotic Seneschal’s “Relax, I had him killed. Do you see what I protect you from?” to the recent Faceless Man’s “We did that”. Bravo, for all of them. And good luck with Erfworld; it’s wierd whimsy continues to be amusing and intriguing. There’s a lot more in it than shows on the surface – Lord Hamster is a likeable Thomas Covenant.
I’ll miss you, man.
Thanks for everything, and good luck.
Very sorry to hear that you’re departing! I’ve enjoyed the strip quite a lot. I hope the new writer is able to carry it forward. Best of luck.
Thank you for all the fish!
I got this lovely thin envelope from my 80 year old mother last week and I was all excited thinking it was a check. All that was in the envelope was your strip! Which goes to show you how highly your fans think of you and how you appeal to all generations.
It’s been a great strip and thanks for the memories. When does artist-to-be-named-later take over?
PClips is great, really great, but IMHO Erfworld has so much more potential. Thanks for keeping us entertained Mr Balder.
You’ve been on my daily reading list for more than a year now.. you will be missed!
Thanks so much
Wow, I guess this was inevitable.
Rob already knows everything about PClips, from each reader that scratched their head at that strip they couldn’t get, or that extra layer of funny that was a happy accident, or showing off that kind of clip-art that no one could imagine anyone ever producing…. but I don’t want to inflate his ego to the size where it can crush a small child, so I salute him.
And wonder… what happened to the Forums?
-=PakoPako=-
Forums will not be preserved, alas. There may be some versions at archive.org, but they’re going away from public view in favor of the sort of streamlined comment section we probably should have gone with long ago. But we will be bringing back old commentary, as soon as we can. It’s a manual process and I will be hiring a destitute to do it. Right, Mal? XD
Thanks for the kind words, everyone.
I found PartiallyClips about a month ago, and read through every single strip from the beginning during the holidays. Thanks for all of the laughs! I’m glad to see that PartiallyClips will live on.
Yay destitute workers! ^_^
…wait, I think I just zinged myself. X_X

(And huzzah for CAPCHA!)
I just found PartiallyClips about a two months ago, and spent most of a week during every spare moment at work going through all the strips in reverse order. There are some real gems in there, and it’s a good legacy. Thanks for the diversion.
Thanks for all the laughs. Your comic has really been something to look forward to each week. I hope you find what you’re looking for in life and all your future endeavors.
