Did some fairly useless research on catamarans that resulted in no punchlines.  But what I did learn was interesting.  If Europeans had figured out the principles of multi-hulled vessels early, all of history might have been radically changed.  By the time anyone in the west figured out catamarans, all sailboats were obsolete.
