I was seriously considering having the monster complaining about how TV Tropes has made it impossible for a monster to just pick up a woman at random without everyone assuming one of those tropes, but it’s just not the direction I wanted to go.  I have a love/hate relationship with TV Tropes.  It does make writing much, much harder.  But it’s a hell of a tool, too.
