Because images from old magazines become public domain after their copyrights expire, there is all too much old-style and antique clip art out there. After finding it hard to do more than a few historical-fiction type jokes, I have generally stopped using them. There was something about this art that made me want to use it, though, and time it to pre-WWI 20th Century.

That sudden pre-suffrage punchline may be the funniest part, especially given the contrast between his disappointingly unenlightened bias and the intellectualism just up to that point.
