On The Moors

Until I gave it some thought after I wrote it, I had no idea where this one came from.  But now I think it must have had a hell of a lot to do with having just re-read “Mostly Harmless,” the last book in the Hitchhikers’ Guide series.  Sandwiches, futility, and English humor…that’s about that.

    Great last line!

PS I’m English, maybe that’s why its so funny… ;-)

I should have to say that my favourite line was “It’s ummy”. “The cheese gets all gooey” provides some foreshadowing, but “It’s ummy” truly does pull it up in the ranks of humorous, anachronistic absurdism.

Unabashedly materialistic absurdism at its best. I have to agree about “ummy” and the sharp eloquence of beating out the voles that have taken to nesting in milady’s sedentary petticoat.
