Kids With Umbrella

This is a thought that often occurs to me and I wasn’t quite sure how to present it in a strip.  I could not (in, say, third grade), have accurately guessed what I would be doing for a living right now.  ”Cartoonist” existed.  ”Non-drawing clip art webcartoonist with side careers in self-published game design and self-produced comedy music distributed worldwide online,” or whatever the hell I am this week, did not.  In this case, if we’re thinking 25 years ahead, the eyeball thing is possible and the detective thing is no more than a decade away.  You could have a hell of a noir story set in a virtual world (this has probably been done and I just haven’t read it).

It’s been around since 1984 at the /very/ least, with “Neuromancer”. Personally, I’d love that job if it was more three-dimensional with sniper cameras and high-speed foot chases and less sorting through code and logs.
