So, I don’t want to make a bigger deal of this than it is, but my apartment building caught on fire yesterday.  As of this writing, I have not been allowed back in to check for damage.  I have reason to believe things will be smelling of electrical-fire smoke but otherwise all right.  The only thing I grabbed when I left was my CPU, which has been jostled a lot in the confusion and I hope it will be okay.

This being a serious fire in a hirise, the fire response was fairly impressive.  I counted 36 vehicles of various types from fire&rescue alone, plus a few cops, utility company trucks, and news crews.

Anyway, I guess I had fires on my mind when I wrote this one.  It was originally written to a clip of a plain barn, but when I hit the concept I went looking for some public domain photos of barns on fire, then did some trickery to posterize this into something resembling clip-art.  It’s never a technique I am happy about doing, but my clip art collection is in the apartment and I am making do with what I can get to.
