I dunno, too tame?  Too much like a joke that a mainstream daily strip might use?  In my new 5-a-week mode, I can’t afford to worry about such things.

Originally I had God do the punchline.  It seemed more in line with the sensibilities I have established in this strip to have a hidden wife rather than a hidden deity.  Not that I wouldn’t do the God-to-man thing, but in this case, it felt more right to do it this way.  It required that I set the joke up a little differently, but so be it.
