Prince At Window

Here’s the bookend to the previous strip’s father/son dynamic.

I tried a lot of different approaches with this one.  There was a point at which I had the guy calling the action of a battle like a sports commentator, trying to fit as many flips of fortune as I could in there.  I thought about a gender role reversal joke in which he was an imprisoned beautiful prince awaiting rescue by a brave princess.

It ended up with him being mentally a child for no obvious reason, it just turned out kind of goofily funny that way.  It got me to a punchline, even if that’s essentially “go play in traffic, kid, ya bother me.”
