This was #16 in my 24 Hour Comics Day effort. It’s fairly typical of the ones I wrote in that span. Light, silly, borrows a joke I made in another context. In Fellowship of the Ring, when Arwen declares that they must take Frodo to her father to save him from the Nazgul’s wound, I blurted out, “Only the magic of Aerosmith can save him now!”
I don’t recommend MST-ing all 11 hours of the LOTR films, but there are some gems you can shout if you want to break the mood. When Boromir catches the Uruk-Hai arrow in the chest, I did say, “message for you, sir!” And when the Ents are attacking, it’s fun to shout “Run, forest, run!”
When Aragorn cuts off the Uruk-Hai’s arm and runs his sword through it (and it still keeps coming), I went “Right! I’ll do you for that!!”
And to the dismay of the crews who built Edoras, “it’s only a model”.
Works for Minas Tirith too, but dismissing actual construction work as a prop is much funnier.
