I dunno about this one. I wrote it on the road to Ubercon V and I felt like it was going to read like an old radio show. Then, on the trip home, I actually listened to an old radio show called The Adventures of Maisey, and it was confirmed.
But listening to the straight dialogue comedy in that show from 56 years ago kind of helped me tune it up and tighten it. If it had to sound like a radio show, then it was going to sound as much like one as I could make it. The only major divergence is that I gave one punchline to the straight man at the end. But letting the Gracie Allen-like character pull the previously set up non sequitur out of the air brought it right back into the RCA Vista Victrola.
