Recently I have been writing strips which are less specific to the art (meaning characters, expressions and details), and more generic humorous dialogue.  I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not, but the feedback on these has been fairly positive.  An editor at one of the papers which runs the strip told me very seriously that PartiallyClips was at its best when I was just being loose and funny, so I’ve tried to keep that in mind.

One note about the perjorative use of the word “gay” in this strip.  Singing the word has become kind of a running joke expression, and you see it pop up in a lot of webcomics.  PvP went through a phase where it was used in like, every third strip.  I think it’s reasonable that this off-screen, presumably young male character would use it in this context, without intending to bash anyone.  Whether he means “macrame is not a masculine enough activity for me” or “I am not secure enough in my masculinity to engage in an activity which is not seen to be masculine” is a question best left to the reader’s interpretation.  My answer would be “whichever’s funnier.”
