Two things about this one. First, I hope it’s clear that this is sung from the viewpoint of actual Irish people, about Americans celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. I don’t mean the hardcore real Irish-Americans of, say, Chicago or Boston. I mean the typical suburban 3rd or 4th-generation European mutt like myself, with a trace of Irish somewhere buried among the Hungarian and English and French and Scandinavian and who-knows-what else, who likes to go to Bennigans for some Killian’s or green-dyed Sam Adams and have some potato skins.
The other thing is, I’m thinking about fleshing this out a few more verses.
