This clip jumped out at me because there could be all kinds of tension involved in that moment when someone is drying their hand before throwing that second ball. I ended up hanging the whole punchline on “revealing the hidden comic figure,” which is something I did with Carriage Ride and Shark Diver. I try to be sensitive to any formulas or patterns that I might be falling into, but I had to do it with this clip. That bowling ball just looks too much like a pathetic face.
