I love it! If you built something like that on a spinning planetoid the centrifugal force would make the ceiling the floor. The joke isn’t that funny though. Sorry.
Anyway, if the planetoid’s rotational force were so great that it overcame gravity, the planetoid would fall apart because the surface wouldn’t be pulled *down* anymore.
I thought the joke was that there would only be a couple of seconds left to enjoy the Founder’s Day half-price buffets, once the speech had taken its time. I thought it was funny.
…Oh, and the whole “rotating restaurant” thing, of course. It works on several levels, like many of the strips here, some levels possibly unintentional.

I wonder if some counter rotate so they seem to stand still. I guess you could cheap out and make none of them rotate relative to the planetoid.
