So I actually researched the biological accuracy of clams’ reproductive habits before writing this one.  It pays to research biology before writing a strip, because that seems to be the one thing that causes people to send complaining email.  I had that fiasco about “koala bears” a couple months ago, which Pete Abrams alluded to in this strip.  But read his comments!  He got inundated with mail about saying that ferns come from seeds!

The moral: be as offensive as you want, but get your biology right or a horde of Bill-Nye-the-Science-Guys will chew your ass til your coccyx sticks out.
