Reading this after I wrote it made me wonder, “Is cruelty the common element in all of my strips?”  It wasn’t a comforting thought.  I had to go back and read everything and see if it was true.  The verdict: PartiallyClips is cruel all right, but only about 65% cruel.  The rest of the jokes are a mix of weirdness, character quirks, and veiled attempts at profundity.

I started out taking this strip in the direction that Grandpa is going, that they are aliens preparing to conquer Earth.  Something about that rang hokey with me, so I thought, “What if he’s just screwing with her?  That would make him a much more interesting guy than just your standard alien observer from central casting.”
